Kathmandu: The number of deaths in the earthquake that occurred in Gairathi, now a center point in Jajarkot, has reached 138. According to the information provided by Senior Superintendent of Police Gopalchandra Bhattarai of Karnali Pradesh Police Office, a total of 92 people have lost their lives in Jajarkot and 36 in Rukum West due to the earthquake until this morning.”

“Similarly, in Jajarkot, 70 people have been injured, and in Rukum West, 85 people are reported injured. So far, 108 injured people have been rescued and taken to various hospitals, as informed by SSP Bhattarai.”
Rescue and search operations have been intensified in the earthquake-affected areas, and three security agencies have been mobilized for this purpose.
The earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck Jajarkot, now a center point, at 11:46 AM. The earthquake has caused significant damage in Jajarkot and Rukum West.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has also gone to understand the situation of the earthquake-affected areas.

In the Bheri Municipality of Jajarkot, only 35 people have lost their lives. According to the Mayor of Bheri Municipality, Chandraprakash Gharti, there are currently 30 bodies in the health department, while five bodies have been stored in the mortuary.

“Similarly, in Rukum West, there have been 36 deaths due to the earthquake, while more than 85 people are reported injured. The latest update was provided by the District Police Chief Namraj Bhattarai of Rukum West.”

“In Rukum West, eight municipalities have been severely affected, including Athbiskot Municipality, Chaurjahari Municipality, and Sani Bheri Rural Municipality. The earthquake has displaced homes and settlements, and roads have been blocked.”
