Hope from Govt. to the people, but it has yet to materialise, as with the Maoist party: Prachanda

Kathmandu: Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has stated that there is increasing hope among the public toward the government. He mentioned that despite the complexities in the country’s political situation, the government’s efforts and actions carried out under his leadership, have been able to raise hopes and aspirations among the people.

Prachanda addressed the party’s central committee meeting, saying, “We are in a unique context of the country’s politics.” The public’s expectations and wishes for our party and movement are reflected in the government’s actions. We have won fresh public optimism and trust as a result of the government’s performance since our party assumed office.”

He further emphasized that the party should take this growing hope and trust among the public into account while devising future strategies and directives. After his speech, the meeting of the Maoist Center began following his takeover as the chairman.

The meeting, which took place at Nepal Pragya Pratisthan in Kamaladi, Kathmandu, included participation from central committee officials, members, and regional representatives.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda expressed his concerns. He criticized the Maoist party for not being as strong as it used to be and emphasized the need for extensive strengthening.

Prachanda also mentioned during the address that he will launch the Communist Party formation campaign on a genuine basis after this meeting.

He also stated that he can make the party focused and capable by organizing it systematically.

Prachanda expressed that there is hope and trust among the people after the government’s good governance and anti-corruption campaign.

He further urged the members to utilize the hope and trust given by the people to transform the organization by making changes in the structure.

The meeting also discussed the current state of the country’s politics and the need for reform within the Maoist party.

Prachanda requested the central members to engage in constructive discussions and use them to develop the party’s new direction.

“In order to revive the Communist Party, we need to be responsible and disciplined and keep our own thoughts,” said Prachanda during the meeting.

Campaign for 3 months

The proposal to conduct a three-month campaign for the strengthening of the party organization has been put forward by Prachanda.

In the central committee meeting held at Nepal Prajna Foundation in Budhanilkantha on Wednesday, Chairman Dahal presented the organizational report, which includes the plan to carry out a three-month campaign.

The campaign will be conducted in the months of Bhadra, Ashoj, and Kartik.

They aim to reach up to the ward level during this campaign. They have prepared 6,743 ward committees to carry out the campaign.

Furthermore, they have also mentioned that the Discipline Commission will promptly investigate discipline-related issues.
