Four left Parties Announce Socialist Front

Kathmandu, June 19 : The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist), and the outside-supporting Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have come together to announce the Socialist Front. The four communist factions have declared the Socialist Front with a commitment to political stability and the goal of party unity.

The announcement made in the National Assembly hall was jointly signed by Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the Chairman of the Maoist Center and Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, the Chairman of the Unified Socialist, Upendra Yadav, the Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party, and Netra Bikram Chand, the General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party.

Preparations are underway to establish a two-tier structure for running the front. A coordination committee consisting of top leaders and representatives from each political party will be formed, and preparations for setting up the secretariat are underway.

The Socialist Front is expected to have 54 members in the parliament, including 32 from the Maoist Center, 12 from the Janata Samajwadi Party, and 10 from the Unified Socialist. The leaders have mentioned that the number can increase as other parties with similar ideologies join the path that has been opened.
