February 13 Kathmandu : A meeting is being held between Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra and Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Bharatraj Paudel, who arrived in Kathmandu for a two-day official visit to Nepal.
Kwatra is having a bilateral meeting with Foreign Secretary Paudyal at Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, half a dozen issues of bilateral cooperation including connectivity, electricity trade, tourism, agriculture, health and culture will be discussed during the meeting.
Nepal is also going to raise the issue of the border problem in the talks with the Foreign Secretary of India. Three years ago, after India made a political map including Kalapani, Nepal also made a map including Limpiyadhura. Since then, India has been rejecting Nepal’s proposal to negotiate the border dispute.
Kwatra will have a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudel today at 2 pm.
Foreign Secretary Kwatra is scheduled to have a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda at 3 pm.
After the meeting with the Prime Minister, he is scheduled to meet with President Bidya Devi Bhandari at 6 pm.
It is said that Secretary Kwatra will meet UML President KP Sharma Oli, NC Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, Madhav Nepal and leaders of Madheshi parties tomorrow.
