Kathmandu, June 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has pledged to promote more systematic, transparent, and dignified procedures for appointing ambassadors, giving priority to performance-based criteria. 

In his replies to queries from lawmakers in a session of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, he said ambassadors will be appointed bearing in mind the interest of the nation in accordance with the constitution and the country’s foreign policies. 

The government has adopted a policy of appointing ambassadors on objective grounds, he added. (RSS)
