Kathmandu: In the streets of Kathmandu’s Balkhu, there has been a clash between the demonstration-oriented group of Durga Prasai and the police.
The demonstrators, who were protesting in Balkhu Chakrapath, broke through the police cordon and headed towards Kalimati after clashes, where the police used force, resulting in tear gas and water cannons.

After the use of police force, the demonstrators retaliated by throwing stones at the police. Prasai expressed regret for the criticisms against federalism.
Addressing the demonstration in Balkhu, Prasai addressed the demonstrators, stating that their protest is not just a demonstration but a people’s revolt.

“We need to turn this country back into old Nepal, condemn federalism with a kick. This is not just a protest; this is what the people call a people’s revolt,” he said.
“I recognize the current Prime Minister Prachanda very well. Surrender yourself, come to the people. The place where the people achieved what they wanted is the same place,” he added.
He now issued a warning that they would seize control of Kathmandu. He said, “Now, we must take control of Kathmandu. Seize the Parliament building. If attempts are made against us, you must close all shops in Kathmandu.”
During the program, after RPP’s MP and spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi broke the restriction order and tore down the Maitighar stage, there was a clash with the police.
After addressing the demonstrators, Durga Prasai announced from the stage that they would go towards Tripureshwor by breaking through the restricted area.
Afterward, the group of demonstrators from Balkhu headed towards Kalimati from Chakrapath, and clashes with the police occurred as they advanced towards Tripureshwor.
According to the strategy of Durga Prasai’s group, they plan to resort to violent activities and create an atmosphere even if it means causing harm to several people and portraying the state as unsuccessful, as revealed by a high-ranking officer of the Hindu Samrat Sena. According to the officer, their strategy includes conducting violent activities and causing chaos until staying in Kathmandu for about three days, even if it means making arrests and creating a tense atmosphere.
