Kathmandu: The Society Welfare Council has requested national and international non-governmental organizations and institutions for immediate support in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.
Due to the devastating earthquake of magnitude 6.4 that struck the Jajarkot district in Karnali Province at midnight of Friday, causing significant damage to human and physical resources, all national and international non-governmental social organizations and institutions are requested to provide immediate assistance from their working areas to ensure rescue, relief, and rehabilitation.
Society Welfare Council General Secretary Manoj Bhatta issued a statement saying, “At this time of crisis, Society Welfare Council requests the active participation of non-governmental organizations in this task of providing immediate rescue, relief, and rehabilitation support from their respective areas.”
The statement also mentions that the participating organizations are requested to coordinate and collaborate with the relevant local and district administration offices. Information about the coordination and collaboration work should also be sent to the Society Welfare Council.
“During disasters, it is essential to provide an environment for organizations to perform their work smoothly and efficiently. The Society Welfare Council heartily requests support from relevant local authorities and district administration offices,” the statement added.
