Kathmandu: The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, has stated that he is always captivated by the culture, civilization, and hospitality of this country.

Addressing a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday, Secretary-General Guterres mentioned his second visit to Nepal, reminiscing about the moment he first arrived in Nepal in 1978. He said that Nepal always has been a destination for him. He pointed out that Nepal, through Lumbini, has sent a message of peace. However, he also criticized the fact that in countries where peace is desired, innocent civilians suffer in wars where they are not involved, referring to the recent events in Israel.”
