Biratnagar: On Saturday, Chief Minister Kedar Karki, recommended two individuals to be appointed as ministers by Province Chief Parshuram Khapung. Congress rebel Member of Provincial Parliament (MP) Shamsher Rai and Ilam’s Ram Bahadur Magar from the Nepal Communist Party (UML) have been appointed as ministers.
With the appointment of the Koshi Cabinet, Baluwatar’s promise to “strengthen the alliance” between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, and leader Shekhar Koirala has been “violated.”
On Saturday morning in Baluwatar, Prachanda, Deuba, and Koirala vowed to “not allow the alliance to weaken.”
Regarding the existing power coalition, we are unwavering and unequivocal. Under no circumstances will we allow this partnership to be undermined,” read the commitment that Prachanda, Deuba, and Koirala signed.
But even a day could not be the life of this arrangement.

Karki was appointed as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province with the support of the Nepal Communist Party (UML) after rebelling against the Nepali Congress. He gained the support of 47 MPs, including 8 from the Congress and 39 from the UML, to secure his position as the Chief Minister.
While Karki’s coalition was initially backed by both NC and Maoist parties, it seems that Karki now values the support of the UML more than the Maoists. On Sunday, Karki appointed a UML MP as a minister, indicating his intention to lean towards the UML rather than the NC and MC.

Before appointing two ministers, former Chief Minister Karki visited Kathmandu and met with Nepali Congress Rebel leader Dr. Shekha Koirala and Nepal Communist Party (UML) Chairman KP Sharma oli, who is not on good terms with his party president Deuba and Prime Minister Dahal, appears to be taking directions from Nepal’s Communist Party (UML) Chairman and rebel leader Koirala.
