Maoists backed away from holding the meeting live, extending Central Committee 407

Kathmandu: The Maoist Center has decided to expand its Central Committee. The standing committee meeting has decided to expand the 385-member Central Committee to 407 members.

This decision to expand the Central Committee was informed by Secretary Ganesh Shah, who attended the meeting held this morning.

The party’s Central Committee meeting today will mark the beginning of the party’s constitutional reform. The Maoist Center’s spokesperson, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, provided information following the Central Committee’s modification to the Constitution and the meeting to include women, youth, and certain senior officials who were excluded.

Starting today, the Maoist Center’s five-day Central Committee meeting will be held in Pragya Bhawan in Kamaladi. The Maoist Centre has decided not to broadcast the Central Committee meeting live.

It was decided not to live stream the Central Committee meeting. The standing committee determined today’s meeting would not be streamed live.

The gathering would be live-streamed on social media, according to the Maoists headquarters meeting before. However, Secretary Ganesh Shah announced that the decision to not webcast the meeting was made following strong resistance.
