Kathmandu July 14 : Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu discussed the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) program and its implementation with the Foreign Minister of Nepal NP Said .

During the meeting held at the Ministry on Friday afternoon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, NP Saudi expressed his interest in the MCC program.

Furthermore, discussions were held between the offices of both countries regarding increased cooperation in American assistance and bilateral interests in South and Central Asia.

The Foreign Minister, Saud, expressed gratitude to Assistant Secretary Lu for the regular assistance received from the United States and the special support received during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistant Secretary Lu assured Nepal of the continuous commitment of the United States in supporting Nepal in achieving its development aspirations through the partnership of old development associates.

In the course of the meeting, he praised the contribution and achievements made by the Nepali community residing in the United States in the US economy.

The importance of high-level visits between the two countries in the context of fostering long-standing friendly relations was also highlighted by the office of Minister Saud.

Similarly, Lu also met with Sher Bahadur Deuba, the President of the Nepali Congress, on Friday.

Assistant Secretary Lu arrived at the residence of Deuba, residence Dhumbarahi, to meet him.

He also had a scheduled program to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on the same Friday.
