The meeting of the HoR postpone until Sunday

Kathmandu July 7 : The meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled for Friday has been postponed due to the lack of consensus among the parties to address the ongoing dispute caused by the controversial statement made by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

The main opposition party, the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), had obstructed the session on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister for his objectionable statement. Following the obstruction, the meeting scheduled for Friday at 3 PM was announced. However, due to the lack of consensus among the parties to smoothly proceed with the meeting as advised by the Working arrangement Committee, the meeting has been postponed until Sunday.

The Speaker of the House Devraj Ghimire mentioned, “Let there be extensive discussion and consensus between the ruling party and the main opposition party. It is not good for the bill (related to special meter interests) to become inactive when the parliament is obstructed. You need to come to a conclusion. I am ready to facilitate that. Let’s reach an agreement as soon as possible. Today’s meeting is postponed as per the noticed.”
