Kathmandu, July 5 : Since the onset of the monsoon, there have been 24 deaths due to floods and landslides. The Ministry of Home Affairs has provided information that the damages caused by floods and landslides have reached approximately 480 million rupees so far.
According to the information provided by the Department of Disaster Preparedness and Response under the Ministry of Home Affairs, there have been 15 deaths, 5 missing individuals, and 13 injured due to landslides.
Out of the deceased, 11 are male and 4 are female. The department has also provided information that 454 households have been affected by the landslides.
Furthermore, 9 deaths have occurred due to floods, and the Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed that 20 individuals are missing. Out of the deceased, 5 are male, 3 are female, and 1 is unidentified. The department has reported that 112 households have been affected by the floods.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has estimated that approximately 46.6 million rupees have been lost in damages caused by floods, and an additional 1.34 million rupees have been lost in damages caused by landslides.
As of now, floods and landslides have caused significant damage in Sankhuwasabha district. There have been 3 deaths and 19 missing individuals reported in Sankhuwasabha.
Similarly, in Taplejung, there have been 3 deaths and 3 missing individuals due to landslides.
In Panchthar, the reported figures indicate 3 deaths and 3 missing individuals due to the floods.
