One nepali killed by gunfire outside the American Consulate in Jeddah

Kathmandu, June 29 : It has been confirmed by the officials of the United States and Saudi Arabia that a Nepali security guard, along with another person, was killed by gunfire outside the US Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

According to the news, an individual riding in a car had approached the American Consulate in Jeddah with a gun. Security personnel tried to bring the situation under control, resulting in gunfire. The exchange of gunfire led to the death of a gunman and a Nepali security guard, as reported by the authorities in Saudi Arabia. The identity of the deceased Nepali security guard has not been disclosed.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has also reported the death of a Nepali individual who was killed in the incident outside the US Consulate. The US Department of State has confirmed that no US citizens were involved in the incident.

US officials are in contact with Saudi officials and conducting an investigation into the incident. The American Consulate in Jeddah has been a target before, as it was previously attacked in 2016 when an individual detonated a suicide bomb, resulting in the death of the attacker and two others injured.
