China’s Xi accepts invitation to attend Victory Day festivities in Moscow — Russian envoy

MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. Chinese President Xi Jinping has accepted an invitation to attend festivities marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow on May 9, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov told the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

“Chinese leader Xi Jinping has accepted the invitation to take part in festive events to be held in Moscow on May 9 to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War,” the Russian diplomat divulged. “In turn, Xi invited [Russian President] Vladimir Putin to China to participate in festivities scheduled for early September,” he said.

Earlier, Kremlin Aide Yury Ushakov said that China will host events marking the 80th anniversary of victory over Japan and the end of World War Two.
