Body of man buried in landslide found

Sulikot, July 29: One of the five missing bodies including three of the same family in a landslide that occurred at Resegaon, Dharche rural municipality-5, Singla of northern Gorkha district on Sunday has been recovered at 12:45 PM on Monday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Ramesh Kumar Shrestha said that the body of the 60-year-old Sulal Gurung, a father of the missing Jeet Bahadur Gurung, of Resegaon, Dharche rural municipality-5, Gorkha was discovered some 20 to 25 meters down the house.

He said that the search for the five persons who went missing in the landslide that has been continued today when there was no progress in the search operation throughout the day on Sunday found the dead body of 60-year-old Sulal Gurung in the landslide debris near the house.

According to the District Police Office, the search for the other four remaining is ongoing rapidly,

Jeet Bahadur Gurung, aged 37, his 35-year-old wife Kanchi Gurung, 35, his 60-year-old father Sulal Kancha Gurung, a worker Ramesh Gurung, 33, residing in same place and Ramesh Pariyar, 24, working as a tractor driver on the farm, went missing after a landslide occurred since Sunday night had swept away the agricultural farm and a house of Jit Bahadur Gurung, a local.
