Nepal-India relations should focus on positive aspects: DPM Shrestha

Kathmandu, June 9: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that Nepal has strengthened the backward communities by embracing diversity.

DPM Shrestha made the remarks while addressing the two-day seminar on knowledge tradition in the contemporary world scenario in the Nepal-India cultural context.

He held that Nepal India relations should be focused on positive aspects such as connectivity, tourism and trade that shed light on common prosperity.

DPM Shrestha expressed hope that the relations between the two neighbours will herald a new age of development, prosperity and social transformation.

He viewed that principles of inclusiveness, secularism, federalism, sexual equality, access to education has kept Nepali society lively.

DPM Shrestha maintained that Nepal was committed to achieving SDGs, getting elevated from the status of LDC, and adopting measures to tackle challenges of global warming and climate change.
