Kathmandu, May 29: The writ petition filed to dismiss the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane from his post has been deferred. 

The hearing on the writ petition against DPM Lamichhane was scheduled on Wednesday by a single bench of Judge Sunil Kumar Pokharel of the Supreme Court. Today’s hearing was deferred as the writ petitioner Anupam Bhattarai appealed to postpone the hearing. 

Arguing that Lamichhane’s position as Home Minister hinders a cooperative investigation against him, Advocate Bhattarai further demanded an order to remove him from his post or suspend him as soon as the investigation into the cases proceeds.
