Kathmandu, May 28: The government will declare 2081 to 2091 as an Agriculture Investment Decade.
Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun revealed while presenting the annual estimate of income and expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year of 2081/82 at the joint meeting of the federal parliament today.
He said that the main target of the agriculture investment decade will increase investment for the modernization of agriculture and increase productivity in coordination with the private sector.
Promotion of contract farming in coordination with traders, government and farmers to ensure resonable price and market.
Subsidy in interest, tax concession in import of farming tools, for individual, cooperative collective farmering.
Government has allocated Rs 2.98 billion for the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Programme.
