Sirohiya to be presented before district court

Dhalkebar, May 27: Chairperson of the Kantipur Media Group (KMG) Kailash Sirohiya is being presented before the court on Monday. 

Sirohiya, who is in judicial custody at the District Police Office, Dhanusha, is being presented before the court for further extension of remand time. 

He was admitted to the hospital and then referred to Kabya Hospital in Janakpur, after observing health issues, headache and dizziness. Currently, he is undergoing treatment at the hospital. 

The spokesperson of the District Police Office, Dhanusha, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ranjan Awale, said that Sirohiya will be presented in front of the court after running some tests as he is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.

On Wednesday, police presented the KMG chair before the court, seeking a 10-day remand to investigate a citizenship certificate-related case. 

A single bench of Judge Romakanta Gyawali allowed the district police office to keep Sirohiya in custody until Sunday for further investigation.
