Chitwan hotels, restaurants offer discounts targeting Visit Bharatpur

Narayangadh, May 12: Targeting the Bharatpur Visit Year 2024, hotels and restaurants of Chitwan are offering special discounts on foods and accommodations. The hotels and restaurants of Chitwan are providing 15 per cent discount on food and 25 per cent on room charge. Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, Chitwan, the umbrella organisation of hotel businessmen, has decided to give a 15 per cent discount on menu rates for food and 25 per cent on room rates considering the tourists visiting Chitwan.

Loknath Bhatta, president of the Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, Chitwan, said that the discount package has been announced to make it easier for tourists visiting Bharatpur during the year. “We, the hotel operators, want to make the domestic and foreign tourists who visit Bharatpur feel comfortable and enjoy discount,” he said.

Discount facilities have been implemented in 500 hotels and 700 restaurants in Bharatpur, including 65 well-facilitated hotels for tourists, he said. Tourism expert of Bharatpur Metropolis Dr. Bishwo Raj Subedi said that monitoring was also ongoing regarding the discounts announced by the hotels.

“We have started putting posters of discount packages in every hotel with the help of the city police. We will monitor whether the hotels have implemented it or not,” he said. Tourism expert Dr. Subedi said that the discount package had been given for the convenience of these tourists who come to visit Chitwan.

Bharatpur Municipality has declared Bharatpur Visit Year 2024 and is conducting various programmes with the aim of promoting economic transactions within Bharatpur. 

According to this, in the year 2024, about 200,000 foreign and 500,000 domestic tourists are expected to visit Bharatpur. Dinesh Kumar Chuke, President of Hotel Professional Federation Nepal, said that all the hotels in Chitwan had started giving discounts.

“When the flow of tourists increases, it increases the business of hotels and restaurants. We should also support the campaign in this way, So, we offered discount to the tourists,” he said. He also suggested hotel businessmen to make cleanliness and behaviour tourist-friendly.
