Hikmat Kakri stakes claim for Koshi’s CM

Biratnagar, May 9: Parliamentary Party leader (CPN (UML) Hikmat Karki has staked a claim on the Chief Minister of the Koshi Province.

He claimed CM after receiving support from 52 members of the Province Assembly from CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) as per Article 168(5) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Chief of the Koshi Province Parshuram Khapung has set a deadline of 5 PM on Friday for the formation of the new government, by issuing a press release on Wednesday evening. 

The process proceeded as the Province’s head was requested to form a new government with an information letter mentioning that  30 days passed since 52 MPs withdrew their support from the government, and the CM has yet to take the vote of confidence.
