The EC recognised Ashok Rai-led ‘JSP’ and registered it

Kathamandu: The Election Commission has granted recognition to the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) led by Ashok Rai. The party, formed after the division of the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal has been registered with the Election Commission.

Ashok Rai and other leaders of the JSP were seen at the Election Commission receiving the party registration certificate.

Under the leadership of Upendra Yadav, the JSP Nepal was divided, and a new party under Rai’s leadership has been registered. They applied for party registration at the commission on Sunday.

According to the information provided by the assistant spokesperson of the commission, Ramdatt Pandey, on Monday, the commission has decided to register the Janata Samajwadi Party under the political party law and regulations based on the party’s application.

“The commission has decided to register the Janata Samajwadi Party, abbreviated as JSP, as a political party according to Section 33 of the Political Party Act, 2073, and Rule 5 of the Political Party Regulation, 2074,” said spokesperson Poudel.

The commission will inform concerned authorities about the party’s registration and provide the party registration certificate to the Janata Samajwadi Party.
