Nepal’s policy to welcome foreign investment: Minister Pun
In the meeting, Finance Minister Pun said that the government has given priority to bringing in international investment in Nepal.
He said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ instructed all the members of the Council of Ministers, including himself, to bring investment from outside the country and to encourage investors from within the country as well.
Minister Pun said that since Nepal was in favour of democratic system and competitive market, it wanted to be more open to the world.
He said that in order to create an investment-friendly environment, the government had brought an ordinance to amend nine laws that are considered unfavourable to investment only a few days ago.
“We have advanced the process of reforming only nine laws through ordinances,” he said. “We think that we will continue to make further reforms based on the changed context and the suggestions of investors.”
