Priority to laws amendment to attract investment: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, April 4: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that amendment of laws to attract investment according to the various commitment has been prioritized.

Addressing the 57th meeting of the Investment Board Nepal today, the PM said that the government has prioritized amending laws to mobilize domestic and foreign investment in the infrastructure and service sector. 

In his directives to the meeting, the PM said to all guilds to focus on decisions of the board that can have an on impact Public Private Partnership (PPP)Projects. He emphasized that there is a need for the development of a public-private partnership environment. 

He said, “The projects on public-private partnership are of different nature. The government gives different commitments to the agreement of the development of the project. The compensation needs to be paid if decisions that can affect projects and implementation processes are impeded. That will damage the country. therefore, shoulder additional responsibility on this subject.” 

The PM said that ownership and initiatives of board members are necessary to transform decisions into outcomes for the decisions that are approved by the board.

He said that expertise in province, local level and various government agencies is needed to implement public-private partnership projects.
