Foreign Minister Shrestha and Chinese counterpart Wang has a bilateral meeting

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is visiting China, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a bilateral meeting in Beijing on Tuesday.

Shrestha is the senior vice-chairman of Nepal’s ruling party Maoist Center, while Foreign Minister Wang is a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the bilateral meeting, both leaders evaluated the state of bilateral relations and expressed their commitment to work together to take the relations to a higher level. In addition, in a warm and cordial meeting on the occasion, the two leaders emphasized the quick implementation of the project.

 Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha, who is on a nine-day visit to China, had a meeting with Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, on Monday. On that occasion, he expressed his happiness that the relationship between the two countries is excellent.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the discussion was focused on economic development and prosperity, expressing commitment to help strengthen bilateral relations. Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha will visit Chongqing, then Lhasa and Chengdu on Wednesday from Beijing.
