FNCCI President Dhakal urges ambassadors to boost FDI in Nepal

Kathmandu, Mar. 22: President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) FNCCI Chandra Prasad Dhakal urged ambassadors from various nations to champion Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Nepal.

During the luncheon at Lumbini Cable Car top station in the prelude to the Honorary Consular Corps-Nepal (HCC-N) Lumbini Conclave, Dhakal, who is also the Vice Dean of HCC-N, highlighted Nepal’s rich tourism potential, accentuating sectors like hill station resorts, religious tourism, and cable car attractions.

With its awe-inspiring natural landscapes, including the majestic Himalayas, Nepal offers an array of experiences ranging from thrilling adventures to serene spiritual quests, Dhakal said.

He also highlighted ongoing efforts to bolster tourism infrastructure, including the development of a luxury hotel with 150 beds, a casino, and a spacious meeting hall accommodating over 700 individuals.

Additionally, plans are underway to expand cable car projects nationwide, promising improved accessibility and exploration prospects, he added.

Expanding beyond tourism, Dhakal emphasised investment opportunities in sectors such as hydropower, renewable energy, information technology, agriculture, and infrastructure development.

He lauded governmental initiatives aimed at fostering an investment-friendly climate through legislative amendments and policy enhancements.

The forthcoming Nepal Investment Summit on April 28-29, jointly organised by FNCCI, underscores Nepal’s dedication to positioning itself as an appealing investment hub.

He emphasised the significance of promoting Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, not only for its spiritual reverence but also for its potential contributions to regional cultural and economic prosperity.

President Dhakal called for collaborative efforts to harness Nepal’s opportunities, spur economic growth, and pave the way for a sustainable future for generations to come.
