Kathmandu Valley, eastern part witness rainfall

Kathmandu, Mar 20: Kathmandu Valley and eastern parts of the country have witnessed light to moderate rainfall on Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, precipitation has occurred in some places of Bagmati, Madhesh and Koshi Provinces including the Kathmandu Valley.  

 MFD said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the eastern part of the country throughout the day on Wednesday. 

Meteorologist Gobinda Jha of the MFD said that the weather has changed due to the influence of westerly winds. This affected more in eastern Nepal and less in the west. 

He said, “There is a possibility of light rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday in Kathmandu. There is a possibility of rainfall from Gandaki Province to East on Thursday.”

According to him, there is relatively less weather change in the area from Gandaki to the west. Rainfall will be higher in hills than in Terai. Temperature drop has dropped in areas where rainfall has been observed. 

The weather will improve gradually from Friday.  

According to him, there is relatively less change in weather in the area from Gandaki to the west. Change is also more in the hilly areas and less in the plains. Cold weather has been felt in the places where it has been cloudy and rainy. Meteorologist Jha said that the weather will improve only from Thursday.
