Chitwan, Mar 4: The reason for the death of the minor Shalin Pokharel who was found deceased in a suspicious manner at the hostel of Ekata Children Niketan of Ratnanagar Municipality-10, Chitwan, has been revealed as hanging.  

Chief of the District Police Office, Chitwan, Bhavesh Rimal, said that the report prepared by the TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgung, has revealed that the cause of the deceased minor was hanging. 

“The report has come. Unlike the ongoing speculation that has come out about the cause of the death, it is not observed like that. It has been mentioned in the report that the cause of death is hanging. Further investigation into the matter is underway. Further information about the case will be revealed after additional discoveries,” said Chief Rimal. 

It has been mentioned in the report of the postmortem that the minor was not raped. The hymen is intact of the deceased 14-year-old minor. The eighth-grade student Shalin was found hanging on February 24. The cause of the death in the postmortem is mentioned as ‘hanging.’

The family of the deceased has been claiming that there were wounds in the body.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, no signs of severe wounds have been observed in the deceased body. 

The Police have arrested the Principal of the School, the Principal and the hostel warden for questioning about the incident. The arrested have been 60-year-old Bal Hari Devkota, Principal of the school, 40-year-old Kiran Bahadur Adhikari, Vice-Principal and 48-year-old Kamal Sharma Paudel.
