Lumbini Province Health Ministry strengthens emergency healthcare services

Nepalgunj, Mar. 2:The Lumbini Province Health Ministry is undertaking a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening emergency healthcare services across various hospitals in the province.

The Lumbini Province Government’s Ministry of Health is organising diverse programmes to enhance the efficiency of patient referral and management systems during emergency scenarios in both hub hospitals and satellite networks.

A recent workshop convened in Nepalgunj delved into crucial topics including disaster response for the sick and injured, facilitating hospital accessibility, prompt treatment management in satellite network hospitals, and referral protocols to hub hospitals based on specific needs. Chief Nareshbabu Shrestha highlighted the significance of these discussions.

Chaired by Nodnarayan Chaudhary, Head of the Policy Planning and Public Health Division of the Lumbini Province Health Ministry, the workshop saw participation of key figures such as Bheri Hospital’s Chief Medical Superintendent, Pawan Jung Rayamajhi; Senior Community Nursing Officer at the Health Ministry, Chitra Khanal; Chief Nursing Administrator at Bheri Hospital, Durga Lakshmi Shrestha; Chief of Bardia Hospital, Subas Pandey; and other representatives from hospitals affiliated with the Banke and Bardia.

Arjun Dhakal, a public health officer at the Ministry of Health, revealed that similar seminars had previously been conducted in Ghorahi of Dang. He announced plans for another workshop to be held in Butwal.

Bheri Hospital in Nepalganj, Rapti Science Institute in Dang, and Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal serve as referral hubs, while various government and private hospitals are integrated into the satellite network.
