No public holiday on ‘People’s War Day’: Home Ministry

Kathmandu, Feb 12: The government has revoked the decision to give a public holiday on February 13 for ‘People’s War Day’, which is observed every year on Falgun 1. 

According to Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson, the meeting of the Council of Ministers on February 8 has scrapped the public holiday marked on ‘People’s War Day’ in line with the decision of the Supreme Court. 

The public holiday determined for February 13, 2024, on the Nepal gazette (Volume 72, Number 65, Part 5), published on March 16, 2023), has been retracted.
