Kathmandu: The Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party for Tibet is coming to Nepal, and a high-level Chinese delegation is scheduled to arrive next week in Kathmandu following the Prime Minister’s visit to China. Another high-level Chinese delegation is expected to visit Kathmandu from Chimeki, China. Along with the Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party for the Tibetan Autonomous Region, Wang Chuncheng, they are coming to Nepal.
The Chinese government has appointed Wang Chuncheng as In-charge of Nepal-China relations.
Following Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s visit to China, the first high-level Chinese delegation is coming to Nepal. Prime Minister Prachanda and Tibetan Secretary Wang held talks in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, on September 28. They agreed to progressively open traditional border trade points between Nepal and China.
Preparations for Wang’s visit to Kathmandu have been made for diplomatic discussions between Nepal and China regarding Tibet. The trip holds significance for Nepal as well.
According to international sources, Wang, the Tibetan Secretary, has requested to hold talks with Prime Minister Prachanda, Deputy Prime Minister, and Defense Minister Puran Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, and Tourism Minister Sudan Kiranti among others.
“For Nepal, Tibet and the Communist Party leadership in Tibet are very important. Since they hold the top position in China, their visit is important to us,” said international sources.
The Chinese government has requested Nepal to establish cooperation in criminal matters following Prime Minister Prachanda’s visit to China, and he agreed to it. The agreement included the opening of bilateral customs points in Kimathanka and Olangchunggola, for the sake of bilateral trade for both Nepal and eastern Nepal. Local authorities have coordinated for this purpose.
Prime Minister Prachanda is expected to travel to China to inspect the border points between Nepal and China, according to the agreement reached. During his visit, Prachanda is also expected to discuss and carry out further investigations regarding border coordination.
Both sides will conduct talks on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, and the fourth phase of work related to the Arniko Highway Maintenance Project will also be initiated, as per the agreement between the two countries.
They will also discuss the construction of Kerung-Rasuwa Gadhi and Chilime 220 kV energy transmission lines, as well as the establishment of a Nepal-China joint implementation mechanism for cooperation in the fields of hydropower, wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy, and hydrogen.
After the Prime Minister’s visit to China, Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma and Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha have visited China. Ramesh Rijal, the Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, is also scheduled to visit Shanghai in the same context.
Chief Justice Shrestha, and Chinese counterpart Zhang hold talks
Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha on Wednesday held talks with his Chinese counterpart, Zhang Jun, the Chief Justice and President of the Supreme People’s Court of China, and discussed various matters within the realm of judicial services.
In a statement, the Nepali Embassy in Beijing said both sides agreed to further strengthen this relationship by promoting cooperation and collaboration in the field of judiciary and expressed satisfaction over the longstanding bilateral relations.
Chief Justice Shrestha commended China for its noteworthy accomplishments in the application of information and communication technology in the field of judicial services and underlined the need for exchanges of knowledge, experiences, and best practices between the two countries, the embassy said.
The Nepali delegation led by the Chief Justice reached Beijing on Tuesday evening after attending the first China (Kashgar)-Central and South Asia Legal Forum held on the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiatives in Xinjiang.
Chief Justice Shrestha was welcomed by Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, ambassador of Nepal to China, and officials from the embassy.
Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Prabhuram Sharma has returned home after completing his official visit to the People’s Republic of China.

He was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by the Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Sitaram Khadka. He had left for that place on the 10th of Kartik.
During his stay in China, the Commander-in-Chief participated in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum held in Beijing. Similarly, during his visit to China, he also called on CMC and Joint Chief of Staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army General Liu Zhenli,

In addition to having a courtesy meeting with Liu Zhenli, he also visited various units and educational institutions of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army located in Xi’an City, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
During his stay in Beijing, he attended the reception organized by the Ambassador of Nepal to China in honor of the CoAS. During the visit, he also visited important tourist spots in Beijing including the Great Wall.
