Nepal Wins International Women’s T20 Series

Kathmandu: Nepal has emerged victorious in the international women’s cricket T20 series involving four countries.

In the final match held in Malaysia on Saturday, Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 13 runs to win the series. Due to adverse weather conditions, the match was abandoned, and Nepal was declared the winner based on the DLS method with a 13-run lead.

Nepal set a target of 102 runs for Hong Kong. In response, Nepal lost one wicket in 5.3 overs, scoring 37 runs, when the rain interrupted the game. The match was eventually decided by the DLS method.

Nepal had scored 25 runs in their innings, leading by 13 runs when calculated by the 5-over mark. Based on this calculation, Nepal secured the victory.

For Nepal, Indu Barma scored 19 runs and Sita Rana Magar contributed 13 runs. Ekra Shahar took one wicket for Hong Kong.

Before this, Hong Kong had lost 6 wickets and scored 101 runs in their innings. For Hong Kong, Ka Ying Chan scored 29 runs, and Marina Antonita made 19 runs.

For Nepal, Khushi Dangol took three wickets, while Asmita Karmacharya and Puja Mahato took one wicket each.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier was held in Malaysia. Four countries, including Nepal, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Hong Kong, participated in the tournament as part of their preparation for the event.
