Kathmandu: Following the obstruction by the main opposition party, the Nepali Communist Party (UML), the session of the House of Representatives scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed.

The UML parliamentarians demanded the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the gold smuggling case.

They had surrounded and obstructed the session demanding an investigation into the gold case.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire appealed for cooperation in conducting the session according to the agenda. However, after the UML MPs continued their protest, the meeting has been postponed.

Speaker Ghimire has postponed the session of the House of Representatives until 11 August.
