Another Incident of Brutality Against Women in West Bengal

Kathamndu July 22: In the Indian State Manipur, a video went viral on July 19 showing two women being stripped and sexually assaulted by a group of men in a village. Similar incidents of public brutality against women have also been reported in the state of West Bengal.

According to the Indian newspaper Dainik Bhaskar, the crowd assaulted the two women, leaving them partially naked. The video was shared on social media by Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP IT cell, and it became public on July 22.

In the video, a group of women is seen surrounding the two victims, and they are beaten with slippers and physically assaulted.

The incident has led to public outrage, but no official statement has been issued by the authorities at the moment.

Amit Malviya mentioned that the incident occurred in the ‘Pakua Haa’t area of Bamangola police station in Malda, and the victims are tribal women.

Malviya also accused the police of being silent spectators during the assault and not taking any action to stop the violence.”
