Kathmandu July 14 : US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu met with the President of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba.

During his visit to Nepal, Assistant Secretary of State Lu went to the residence of Deuba to meet him.
Assistant Secretary of State Lu, who oversees South and Central Asia, arrived in Kathmandu on Friday as part of his one-day visit to Nepal.
On the same day, he had a separate meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and and Minister of Foreign Affairs NP Saud.
During his visit, he also met with employees of the U.S. Embassy.
Lu had a program to meet with a member organization of the American Chamber of Commerce.
He emphasized the efforts to enable Nepal to compete globally and provided insights into the initiatives taken by the United States to support this.
He also visited Nepal last year and the high-level visit from the United States is taking place when the implementation of the MCC project, which was passed by the parliament last year, is approaching.
