Kathmandu July 14: Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu has arrived in Kathmandu. Lu, who looks after the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Central and South Asia, has visited Kathmandu as part of his tour of South Asian countries.
He has a scheduled meeting with Foreign Minister N.P. Saud at 4:00 PM today.
Afterwards, he will also meet with a member organization of the American Chamber of Commerce and discuss programs to enable Nepalis to compete on a global scale, as well as efforts made by the United States in this direction.
He has also scheduled a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda. However, the Prime Minister’s Office has informed that the meeting will only focus on expressing condolences for the demise of Sita Dahal, without discussing any political or diplomatic matters. The meeting between the Prime Minister and Lu is scheduled for 6:00 PM at PM residence Baluwatar.
