Bakar Eid wishes By Prez and PM

Kathmandu, June 29: President Ramchandra Paudel has extended best wishes for the festival of Bakar Eid (Eid-ul-Adha).

Issuing a statement on the occasion, President Paudel wished for the happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepali Muslims living in Nepal and abroad. 

This grand festival is a celebration of brotherhood and family bonds, the statement read, adding that it helped foster an atmosphere of unity and cooperation. The President also expressed belief that it would strengthen religious tolerance and social harmony in our multicultural, multireligious, multiethnic and multilingual nation.

He also hoped this day would inspire all Nepalis to work towards building a prosperous society. Meanwhile, Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has also wished the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

He also stressed that this festival should be taken as a day by all Nepalis to reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding the country’s constitution, republicanism, federalism, proportional inclusiveness, equality, socialism and peace. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that unity within diversity is our national identity and pride.     

Extending best wishes to all the Nepalis including the Muslim community at home and abroad on the happy occasion of Bakar Eid (Eid-ul-Azha) festival, he said that our country with multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-cultural, multi-religious and geographically diverse features is constitutionally a secular state. Likewise, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma extended her best wishes on the occasion. The federal government has also announced a public holiday on Thursday for Bakar Eid.
