International Ayurveda Congress begins from today

Kathmandu, Mar. 3: International Ayurveda Congress is being held in Kathmandu with the slogan ‘Holistic Health for All’, from March 3-5. 

The Congress will be a forum for leading international experts and professionals interested in Ayurveda, to expand their scope of knowledge. 

The Congress aims to establish Ayurveda as the most ancient, scientific and holistic health care system, which is capable of leading the world towards an increasingly disease-free society. 

More than 150 delegates, Ayurveda doctors and experts of related field from Nepal and 200 international Ayurveda experts from around the world will be participating in the congress. 

At a press meet organised here on Thursday, Deepak Prakash Baskota, President of Nepal Maharishi Vedic Foundation informed that 90 papers related to Ayurveda study and research will be presented during the programme. 

Workshops on medical, herbal, pharmaceutical, engineering and science of Ayurveda will be held within three days. Discussions and debates on topics related to ideal health, prevention of chronic disorders, and natural approaches to the reversal of ageing will be carried out, said Baskota. 

On the occasion, Dr. Shyam Babu Yadav, President of Ayurveda Doctors Association of Nepal, said that the congress is the movement for globalisation of the Ayurveda, and it aims to enrich the Ayurveda, alternative and traditional medicine of Nepal at the public level, creating awareness, promoting preventive, promotive and curative and rehabilitative approaches of Ayurveda across the globe. 

The congress is being organised by the International Maharishi Vedic Foundation of the Netherlands, All India Ayurveda Congress, Delhi and the International Academy of Ayurveda, Pune, in collaboration with the local organisers including Nepal Maharishi Vedic Foundation (NMVF) and the Ayurveda Doctors’ Association of Nepal. 

This is the seventh such conference to be held, the first was held in Roermond, Netharlands in 2015, the second in London, third in Brazil, fourth in Netherlands, fifth in Slovenia and sixth in Netherlands in 2021.
