Kathmandu, 15 Feb: Rastriya Janamorcha’s Member of Parliament, Chitra Bahadur K.C., has accused Nepali government chief officials of welcoming foreign dignitaries with a lamp and seeking their blessings to gain personal benefits.
“A few days ago, the foreign secretary of India arrived in Nepal. An employee of India took him to meet various dignitaries such as the head of state and the head of government. Our country can be small or big, but compared to India’s geography, population, and economy, Nepal is smaller. However, in terms of sovereignty and territorial integrity, Nepal is not inferior,” K.C. said.
The lawmaker accused Indian officials of meddling in Nepal’s politics, and alleged that foreign powers played a direct intervene in Nepal’s presidential election.
During a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, MP K.C. made these allegations. He claimed that foreign powers had played a direct role in the election of the president and that they were acting in their country’s self-interest. He also accused Nepali officials of welcoming foreign dignitaries with a lamp, which he claimed was a sign of weakness and lowered the country’s dignity and prestige.
