The Private and Boarding School Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) has called on the government to recognise internal assessment as the base for the Secondary Education Examinations ( SEE) grading with the exams getting uncertain due to elongation of lock down against COVID-19. PABSON came up with the view at a time when the government was seeking alternative measures for conducting the SEE. The umbrella organisation suggests that the National Examinations Board may use internal assessment of SEE students for the year 2076 BS as the base for issuing their grade sheets noting it is feasible and appropriate at the moment. Stating that the postponement of the SEE had caused mental stress and confusion among students and guardians, the PABSON chair presents its suggestion through a press statement today. The government has been urged to take a decision to that end by removing legal hurdles. The SEE exams scheduled to take place from March 19 had been put off as per the decision of the High-Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 on March 18. Thereafter board exams of grade 11 and 12 had also been suspended. —
